I just consolidated with Sallie Mae. They said they paid off my other
lenders about 2 weeks ago. So they send me a payment plan and begin
charging interest. I go check with my other lenders but they all say
that Sallie Mae has not paid them and they are also charging me
interest. I contact Sallie Mae and they said they have paid and that
they don't issue payment in one check but one big lump sum to each of
the lenders so they can't give me any specifics. Urggg. I am at my
wit's end with Sallie Mae. Is it possible to undo my consolidation or
is there any way to straighten this out? I now owe twice as much as
before and no one can seem to correct it!!!

You could contact the Education Department Ombudsman's office to
complain. I don't have their number, but you probably could get it by
calling the FAFSA information line at 1-800-4FEDAID.
