Post subject: word order: "..., which will also be referred to as flea bag |

Hi everyone,
I have a short question about the word order in the following sentence.
Is the part after the comma correct? I'm not sure.
I will talk about dogs, which will also be referred to as flea bags in
the following speech.
Thanks in advance

Maybe yes, and maybe no. If you want to say "I will talk about dogs in
the following speech" --- although I wouldn't if I were you because if
you're about to speak there's no need to say "in the following speech
--- and then want to add something like "By the way, I refer to dogs as
flea bags in my speech", then you need a comma after "bags" because
your remark is parenthetical.
But it'd be much better to say something shorter and more pointed,
e.g., "Flea bags --- also known in some circles as 'dogs' --- are not
my favorite source of parasites."
Better yet, though, because you are probably a lover of those murderous
monsters known as "cats" in Kilbanistic circles, you probably ought to
say something to atone for your very existence, e.g., "I was going to
deliver a nasty speech about dogs, but I've had a change of heart and
repent of my bad opinion of them. Please excuse me while I go outside
and blow my head off for being such a fool."

Aren't you destroying the surprise of suddenly referring to man's best |
friend as a 'flea bag' actually in the speech when you tell us right
before the speech about how you are going to do that?
