Peter T. Daniels denies that he libeled someone with the abusive term
"slut." When caught, he tried to pass it off as a joke. There was clear
hostility in his statements. Not jokes.

Commie, you ignorant slut, "Hispanic" means 'Spanish-speaking'.
Portuguese is not Spanish. Neither is Catalan, Basque, or even Galician
(someone else's unlikely suggestion for what you couldn't think of --
probably you've never heard of it).

"Comm", you ignorant slut, I suggest you Google "Jane, you ignorant slut"
and see what you find.
Ooooh. Poor baby. You've been (according to you) "libelled" on the
Internet. Gosh. We feel so bad for you -- someone said something
about you that you didn't like (and made a pop-cultural reference
that you were too dumb to pick up on, even worse)!
Let us know when you recover those millions of dollars from Peter that,
according to you, ought to be your just reward.

Commie, you ignorant slut, I know nothing of you besides your ignorant
appearances at sci.lang, and that is far, far too much of you to know.
Lighten up. Peter was parodying a "Saturday Night Live" parody of a famous
"60 Minutes" segment from the late 1970s called Point - Counterpoint.
Shana Alexander (Liberal) and Jack Kilpatrick (Conservative) would briefly
debate some issue of the day. In the SNL parody, Dan Aykroyd and Jane
Curtin played them. When things got hot in the exchange of words,
Aykroyd/Kilpatrick would yell, "Jane, you ignorant slut!" to shut off the
discussion.
Part of American comedy history. Not libel.

I never watched that show. I know he's just being a BITCH. But look at the
size of the thread thus far - and it's only the first day. ROTFLMAO. Damn,
that was easy. Like white on snow, they jumped at the opportunity to bitch. |

By the time you wrote the above, you could have googled "Jane, you

realize the nature of the joke that Peter T. Daniels made and the
nature of the variation on that joke that Matthew Fields made. In
light
of that, your response was silly.

I don't know where Matthew Fields usually hangs out, but I'm reading
this thread on Google Groups and the message of his to which I referred
showed itself to be posted to the following newsgroups:

rec.arts.movies.past-films, alt.usage.english, rec.music.opera,
