Post subject: Harvard Summer School Housing? |

#2 daughter is looking at going to Harvard for summer school. Can anyone
point me to an online resource for local housing there? No link from
Harvard that we have found so far.
Thanks in advance,

google "Harvard Summer School Housing"
http://www.dce.harvard.edu/summer/2004/campus/housing.jsp
and many other URLs.
Because most Harvard (as well as MIT) students are away for the summer,
there is an abundance of summer sublets available. I have seen postings (in
the past) for available Cambridge sublets on the Stanford Network list, as
one example.

Abe, thank you, I'd already seen that site.
Problem is that my daughter is a vegetarian (vegan) and will want to prepare
her own food, and the housing offers all include meals. So we are looking
to share or sublet for a little over a month if at all possible.
These two from MIT look promising:
http://cssa.mit.edu/mail/mitcssa-housing/
http://web.mit.edu/housing/
But, not being sure of the geography, further info would be great.

Harvard is two T (subway) stops away from MIT's Kendall Square.
One can walk from Harvard along Mass(achusetts) Ave to MIT in about 20-40
minutes (depending on age and weight).
Cambridge is very vegan and vegetarian friendly. Lots of choices including
at the Star Market supermarket.
Use yahoo maps or others online to "size up" Cambridge.
Best,

hi
you probably have already found something by now...but if not i'd say the best resource i found was craigslist. my first summer in harvard i stayed in the summer school dorms...it was convenient but i got bored of the meal plan and later found that there were tons of other cheaper options out there:)
hope that helps! |
