Hi,

In vovaboly 2.1, how many words are included and have pronounced in SAT book? The Ad says it has 5014 words, but I only see 300 words over 43 pages.

Secondly, it says you can add your own new words into a book. Does that mean once you type a new word along with definition and sample sentence. the audio clip will be created for you?

I apprecaite your helps,

Thanks for your inquiry!

In the trial version, only the first 300 words in each book are available. After you register the software, all words (e.g. 5014 in SAT) will be accessible.

The pronunciations you listened to are computer-generated voices (Microsoft Text-to-speech technology, TTS), you may have noticed they were not very clear. After registration, you can download a better version - recorded human voice.

For the new words you added, the program will first look up the human voice audio files, if it doesn't find the word, it will pronounce it with TTS.

Thank you for the quick response. I still have a question.

What is TTS? It it part of the software or I have to purchase it seperately? If audio file doesn't has the new word I added, for an example, persnickety, then is there a way I can record human voice and integreted it into the software?

TTS is text to speech technology from Microsoft, it's free. Windows XP has bundled it. But if you are using earlier versions of Windows such as Win98 and 2K, you need to install it (you can download it from our website).

Vocaboly doesn't have the interface to add audio files made by yourself.
