I often ask myself about the use of words such as, also, too, plus and as well, in the same sentence.

Below is a wishful example that I just put wrote.

As well as getting answers to their questions vis a vis English usage, members of alt.usage.english also get the opportunity to make new friends and win prizes for the best answers given as well as effortlessly gaining knowledge and improving their vocabularies, plus there's even the chance of leaving private messages too. So sign up now!

Would the above paragraph be considered grammatically correct?

Should this type of syntax be avoided?

It's not a question of grammar or syntax, but just of redundancy, clunky style, or rhetorical overkill. Generally not a good idea to put too many modifiers in the same sentence.

Hopefully everyone understands that the sentence was put together in order to establish what is and isn't posssible with regard to grammar and syntax and wasn't meant to be an example of my literary skills Embarassed
