It is with ineffable delight that I report that the Anglo-Saxon
Wikipedia has an article on the national anthem of Liechtenstein,
complete with a translation of the lyrics. You will want to know that
"Hit hæfþ ilce swinsung swa þæs Geanlǽhte Cýnedómes cynesang,
God Save the Queen."

I note with some amusement that Mr Friedman's original posting, in UTF-8,
contained an array of bizarre characters in the OE quotation, but that the reply
seems to have recovered the correct glyphs in all but one instance (the sixth
letter of "Geanl?hte")....r

Interesting - I could read your quote of Jerry's message, but couldn't read
the message itself.

That's fairly common on Usenet, as I know from my days at
alt.usage.spanish. It depends on people's software.
