Hi,

how would you explain what an embryo parson is? I am referring to a conversation in the movie (and book) Cold Comfort Farm, which goes like this:

Charles: Mary says you want to live with relatives.
Flora: Oh, you shouldn't have said, Mary. He might think I want to go and live with him and was angling for an invitation.
Charles: You'd be very welcome. Mother would love it if you did.
Flora: What do you do, Charles?
Charles: Embryo parson, actually.
Flora:Oh, well, that really makes it awkward.
