I'm a junior composition (music) major in Philly. I entered with a
very promising future at 28 years old. Since getting to college I've
found it harder and harder to do what I'm here for. I'm very good, and
I can be very focused and I learn very quickly. I am writing a program
for composing in alternate tuning systems for independent study, hoping
to impress grad schools with it. I've been on the dean's list every
semester, despite getting very frustrated with being unable to write.
But I am basically not stimulated, not challenged, and I try as hard as
I can to do my work, but can't seem to sit down and do it. I put it
off day after day, and, until now, still get A's, though I'm not
getting nearly as much as I could out of my education. Where can I go
for advice? Is there another group that deals with this sort of thing?
Thanks.
