I've heard "Pops!" several times. I've looked up the word and found
"pop" means father. Deducing from the situation, I think "Pops!" means
"old male" and a little bit insulting. The question is, that "pops"
doesn't seem to be the plural form of "pop(father)". Because, in the
situation, there was only one man, but "pops" is used instead of
"pop".
A: You better turn up your hearing aid, Pops!
B: Pops! I'm only two years older than you!
A: When will you teens learn to be uncool like everyone else.
B: Never, pops!
Is "pops" itself a word?

It's used, therefore it is a word. It can be either insulting or
affectionate depending entirely on context, tone, and intent of the
speaker.
If my daughter calls and asks "How ya doin', Pops?", it's
affectionate. If some young person tells me to "Move it, Pops", it's
insulting.
