Hello,

Can some one tell me how I can write a letter of invitation in
ornamental english. The occasion is a birthday celebration of a 1 year
old. I want the letter in flowery and ornametal expressions in english.

Thank you.

In my opinion, it's not a very good idea. We generally avoid flowery
language unless it's clear that we're using ornament for fun.

Why not search your memory or a dictionary of quotations for a nice
little piece of poetry instead? You could even find several short
quotations to print on the invitation.

See whether your local library still has 19th century guides on
how to write all sorts of letters (job solicitations, congratulations
on a birth or birthday etc.) (Fifty years ago librarians probably
thought it was their duty to keep "obsolete" references like this:
they may nowadays think they ought to get rid of them, to
make room for new Internet terminals . . . )
