Right! - pith *helmet*, pith in *orange peel*, but "*pithy*"?
AND "*bloviate*"? - cor, "it's a cracker!" (Frank Carson!).

C'mon girls and boys - be honest - who KNEW?

Absolutely baffled of Cheam writes, "I've heard of the word 'pithy',
but not the word 'bloviate'. As to the sense of the message in toto -
I believe the writer is stark, staring bonkers."
