I've worked in two call centres in my life-- here in the 'States, mind
you-- and my experience has shown that you can walk in off the street
wearing a do-rag and torn up jeans falling down past your knees,
without fresh deodorant or a grasp of the English language, and curse
your way into a job that has a turnover rate of 80-99% over a 90-day
period.

Maybe it's different where you are.

I am applying for the postion of call centre contact. I have customer
experience from working in counter sales in a warehousing environment and am
currently working as a warehouseman on "Key Performance Indicators" ***, I
am hoping to leave this field and am currently doing the call-centre
telecommunication course at (place of course)

I have had a wide range of stores and counter sales experience during my
warehouse career. As well as more traditional warehouse duties. I also attended
to counter sales at (company name) (what it does), where my work included
handling customer queries.

It is the part of my warehousing job where I deal with the customers that I most
like, I like talking to them and sorting out their problems. I'm hoping to get a
job where I can do more of this sort of work.

I am a team player, reliable and can do overtime when it's needed.

*** don't know if "KPIs" is Key Performance Indicators, but if it is write it in
full, as people won't know - I didn't.

The Casino? Let's do that instead. The city anyway?

entertaining him.
*ENVY* I calls it.

But to alt.writing I go, with my bat and balls.

Ivor Longhorns enthused:

"The Casino? Lets do that instead. The city anyway?"

Yeah, but how can I inflict multiple stab wounds with so many people
milling about?

Don't worry: I'm as safe as the wonderful and gentle Leonard Cohen: He
killed his wife with an axe in the late 60s early 70s. They had both
been tripping for weeks.
Yup: Leonard Cohen *is* an axe-murderer. His music improved after he
gave wifey the chop: it became darker, more maudlin, very melancholy,
eg., "Songs of Love and Hate." Great album.

Stick it in ya family, Al--*bum*

Cheers, me frightened little lambie

Since the person is not applying for a position as an English teacher,
that sentence probably wouldn't kill his chances.

Ha! - For that very reason I wasn't aiming for the perfection which you usually
achieve, Charles.
