When the UK media anounce that an island has sunk and 5,000,000 people have
been killed 'including 6 Britons', I always imagine these 5 people as having
long beards, clubs and skin painted blue.

Dance like the teardrop explodes.
Love like you're Frank in Blue Velvet.
Sing as though your little throat would burst.

Ahem. '6 Britons' then 'these 5 people' leaves 1 unaccounted for.

'long beards': some female Britons can be a little hairy, but long
beards are extremely rare on them.

'skin painted blue': this seems appropriate for someone disappearing
into the depths of the deep blue sea in the great blue yonder.

..

Well we usually send the little rich one to the Bahamas and points west
where he can get together with our country's enemies and continue money
laundering and marry divorced Americans and we don't like to talk about
him anyway the treacherous little 2...!

Usually it was a nice tasteful pinstriping.

Karl Rove delivered this tragic news to George Bush. The President's

are there in a brazillion, anyway?"

The Britons were a self-named tribe, who somehow gave their name to the
whole island.

The tribe were obviously known for a rather less endearing feature up
till then?

Could have been worse. They could have been named for a large tract
leading to an orifice.

Anyone know of such a land mass? Amerrygut? No....

....hmmmm.

They are named for doodling on their nipples!

Yes! Pritani means "painted", and so does the Latin word Pict(North
East Scots of similar stock).
