One can't 'explain' a joke to funniness. Funny is what the
listener/viewer laughs at. I recently went to a car dealer looking for a
specific car. They were out of stock. I walked in and said to SWMBO,
"the sign said 'car dealer', they had a big lot, but they had no cars"
in a Seinfeld affectation. She found it so funny, she was prompting me
to do the car routine the next few days. Only my mother-in-law didn't
get it.

There's an Italian bakery ("DelPonte's") in Bradley Beach, NJ, that
turns out black-and-white cookies. It also offers a variety of other
pastries often found in Jewish bakeries (though it's weak on rye bread
and challah), so I'm not sure this is a useful data point.

Most Chinese with an education are bilingual and English is taught in
primary school per government regulations.

Very interesting!
This would be the most plausible explanation, giving the managers the
benefit of the doubt. I can understand how they might not want any
foreign languages spoken by staff that deal with the public, a mostly
white public (not that they're necessarily racist, but just so that
they feel "comfortable"), if it turns out that such staff are indeed
only Chinese-speakers.

Moreover, it's too bad that those crappy japs needed somewhere to
immigrate, but N. America refused then because they are racist.
Instead, the dirty and brutal slaver country Brazil fooled them, and it
fooled those japs as if they can immigrate into Brazil. They actually
enslaved those japs, imprisoned them in its awfully uncivilized coffee
farms and forced them to pick coffee beans for 15 hours a day. It's

More people in China speak English than do in the United States. The
ability to learn and speak a second language (not included in your
upbringing) is indicative of commitment and the desire to succeed.
99% of the population of Austria speak at least three languages. They
are hardly subservient to anyone -- don't you agree?
