Dear all,
Does the voice refer to the people only? How about the animal?
Can we say the voice of the dog? Or the sound of the dog?

Lu,

In my opinion, "voice" has a connection to speech and language. It
would only be appropriate to refer to a dog's voice if you wish to
suggest the dog was somehow "speaking".

It might be useful in poetry, but less appropriate for natural-sounding
"business English". In fact, I would use a more specific term for most
situations: I would describe hearing a dog's bark, a cat's miaow or
(just to confuse things) a car's engine.

I hope this helps.
