I assume you mean newsgroups. And the answer is yes.Blogs are usually just
the opinion of the site owner called" the blogger" . Newsgroups are net
anarchy where everybody plays and the threads always stray from the original
subject. |

Some newsgroups progress beyond "net anarchy" to "gross anarchy".

Whatever.

But if I can post my opinion on a blog, as I often can, then
The opinions are mine. If the bolgger can screen the posts,
he is running a moderated newsgroup. If only a blogger can
post, then he is running a web site -- no different from
nkerstein.org.

Some typos and transmission loss:
"But if I can post my opinion on a blog, as I often can, then
the blog is no different from a standard newsgroup such as this
one. The opinions are mine. If the blogger can screen the posts,
he is running a moderated newsgroup. If only the blogger can post
to the blog, then he is running a web site -- no different from
ankerstein.org."

Hi, Ray. First I want to thank you for your reply. Newsgroups are |
great, but the thing is most of them are not well organized. Is there
any ranking? i.e. the most popular one. I am interesting in Current
affairs and new technology. How can I find out the suitable one? |

The way I find one is to use Google on a phrase that would be used in
the type of group that I'm looking for and do the search in "Groups".
Then, look to see which groups have the most posts on that subject and
which posts seem to be the most informative.
For example, Google "transistor" in "Groups" and you will see that the
term is common in sci.electronics.xxx, and there are several
sub-groups of sci.electronics.
You have to pick a term that somewhat technical. "Inventions" is far
too commonly used to be of help.
