post it note 'type' program that I can use to keep me reminded of things I
should not forget when I am writing. I use word for all my word processing
and need something I can keep on top (if you know what I mean). I dont want
to use real post-it-notes for a number of reasons that make them not
suitable. A free one would be good. Funds are low at the mo and I dont like
giving my financial details out on the web.

I don't have any recent experience of such programs. I used to use "PC Post

It Notes", by James Spencer.
He changed the name of the program (for trademark reasons) to "WinDesktop
Notes". The most recent version is dated May 10th, 2000.

Knotes is free. Its part of KDE on Linux.

Outlook (not Outlook Express) has a sort of Post-It note facility.
