Yale admits 1,950 for '08

The University has accepted 950 women and 1,000 men for Yale College's
class of 2008 out of a record-high 19,674 applicants. (LEO

With the regular-decision pool acceptance rate at a record-low 8
percent, Yale mailed admissions decisions to prospective members of
the Class of 2008 Thursday.
The University accepted 1,280 students regular decision out of over
15,600 applicants. Overall, 1,950 students were offered spots in the
class for an acceptance rate of 9.9 percent, also a record low.
The Admissions Office received a record-high 19,674 applications for
the class of 2008, Dean of Admissions Richard Shaw said. He said he
expects Yale's overall acceptance rate to be among the lowest in the
Ivy League. |
