Someone I know has a choice between Whittier and St Mary's,
California. He will probably study business or something equally
practical, and doesn't plan on grad school (for now, anyway). So
practical issues like preparation for the real world of work are a
consideration, as well as the overall college experience.

Which would be a better choice?

His parents' home is in San Francisco.

Any feedback on this would be appreciated.
