why do csu colleges require more classes than uc colleges?

like csu colleges require history , polical science, and speech. why?

also usc has strange requirements with their own GE

CATEGORY I: Cultures and Civilizations I
CATEGORY II: Cultures and Civilizations II
CATEGORY III: Scientific Principles
CATEGORY V: Arts and Letters
Courses which meet the Diversity Requirement

of which are a lot of courses that over lap in the IGETC, that is , like
category I , II, V diversity are all from area 3 of IGETC

Okay so that is three different types of course requirements and stuff. UC
schools seem to require less than CSU schools and both of them seem to
require less than USC.

I do not know why IGETC would have the least requirements since it has the
most prestige.

In addition, having three different types of requirements makes it
difficult for me and probably others to make course choices. I could stick
to fulfilling IGETC, but then not get accepted to any UC school. Thereby i
waste my time by having a different course load and so forth.

It all is confusing to me

Welcome to the lovely system. Remember, you will be be going to an
institution at a UC or CSU. Plenty of burecracy and red tape. I was in the
Army for several years. Its sickening to me to find the similarities in how
a CSU college is run to that of the Army. My biggest problem with CSU Chico
is that some of the teachers there are quite bad. The two bad teachers I
have are older, probably have tenure.

John,

I do indeed think you are confused. A couple of years ago the
requirements were changed so that California State Universities and
the University of California have exactly the same course requirements
for freshperson admission. Visit the websites:

Yeah. I was talking about requirements to transfering
Like, IGETC for UC schools does not require speech, history, nor political
science, but, whatever, it does not matter.
