Thanks.
Raymond explained it more than well enough. Anyone who still needs help
after that won't understand any further explanation either.
Raymond didn't explain the last three lines. He didn't even explain what the
phrase of where the sun didn't shine stands for. I'm not much interested in
grammer.
Actually, he did. Go back and read his reply again.
So that you won't have to go back: |
"Where the sun didn't shine" means "the place where the sun didn't
shine," and that refers to a specific part of your body that is never
(well hardly ever) reached by the sun: your rectum.
The standard expression is "where the sun don't shine". but the writer
accomodated the tense of the verb to the other verb forms in his
paragraph.
So the advice is: file off the little nub (the "sight") from your
handgun, so that it won't hurt so much when the bear shoves the gun into
you.
There's nothing here that hasn't been said by earlier posters. I'm just
putting it all together for you.

I spoke of *more* than grammar when I wrote about the expression we're
discussing. I said the following about the meaning of "where the sun doesn't
shine"/"where the sun don't shine.": "It is a euphemistic metaphor for the
rectum." I figured that if you did not understand those words you could look
them up in a dictionary easily enough. I did offer to explain if you had
further questions.
I have a question myself: If you are a student of a second language, how can
you *not* be interested in its grammar?

I think I was careless and scattered in reading and so sorry about that.
That's one of my bad habits to be corrected.
And please don't get me wrong as I just wanted to say that the point of my
question was not grammer. I really appreciate your help.
