Post subject: UC rescinds 6000 $7,500 scholarships |
|

Using the wrong email list, UC Davis notified all admittees that they
had won a substantial regents scholarship, when only about 10% had.
They soon sent out a correction. That must have been a roller-coaster
for some families. Any lawsuits? |

Wow!! That was a scholarship worth about $30,000.

What an embarrassment to tell family and friends and then have it recinded.

The real embarrassment is to the University.
Makes you wonder how many erroneous letters of admission and rejection
schools send out, and whether anyone ever finds out. (Anecdotally I know of
a few including at Stanford.)
