Hi I graduated highschool in 99 im 22, would I be considered an adult
in the admissions process? I really want to go to college now and I
know what I'm interested in. The problem is I didn't care in
highschool and my gpa was below 2.0 does it make a difference if I'm
an adult or not? I'm pretty smart my gpa was due to not caring i never
took the sat but when I took the psat I did better than most I'm
pretty sure If I needed to take the sat I could do very well with a
little studying. How would most schools look at me when applying and
what are my chances of getting accepted. I'm just looking to get in a
4 year university nothing like harvard, and I'd prefer not to start
out at community college but I'll have to if no 4 year university
accepts me. I'm interested in business school at pitt if it matters
yes I know I'll have to take prerequisate courses before the business
school accepts me but I would prefer to take those courses at pitt.
thanks in advance |

If you are planning to take a few classes at a time while working you'd be |
considered an adult student. They would probably want to have you take some
gen. education courses and a few things like math before being accepted into
the business program. This is where you could show that you are now more
motivated.
If you want to go there full time and start as a freshman you'd go through
the regular admissions process. If main campus is a priority you'd probably
not get admission as a freshman with your grades but instead could begin as
an adult student.
Freshman admission would be much easier at a Pitt branch campus. That
would make the transition to main campus easier than if you went to a
community college, but that is a definite option too.
I'm not sure about the SAT question. |

Isn't an adult student typically one that has been out of school 5 years or
more? I believe most schools don't care if you took SAT if you've been out
of school 5+ years.
