This is for parents and students(by the way if you are a student and
reading this, I would consider you an exception). This is again for
students who have done reasonably well in high school.

If undergrad offer == Free OR relatively less money OR you can afford
the cost easily(without sweat)
By all means go where your fancy takes you.
Else
If undergrad offer from (Princeton, Harvard, MIT, Yale, brown,
stanford)
By all means go regardless of cash offer
Else
If the next tier of schools
(upenn, cornell, columbia, jhu, washu, berkeley,
dartmouth, UC,
Northwestern)
if (you cannot afford the offer or your parents will descend
to
poverty based on your attending)
if (You are type A:::you are a pushy student::: has more
than
above average
awareness, enthusiasm and have demonstrated this in
high school by being a leader)
Take the chance and attend
else (you are not pushy, and your getting the offer was
based on
your parents pushing you, your leadership in high
school
is based on also ran events)
Do not take the chance and attend, you most likely do
not
have the oomph it takes to succeed in a competitive
environment [remember even competitive schools are
looking
to find students who will get Bs and be happy].
ATTEND a
PUBLIC SCHOOL that is much cheaper because of merit
scholarships
Else
you are already covered by rule 1.
Else
if offer is from the Tier after that (amhurst...)
if your type is A
Attend based on affordability
else
go wherever, you may mature later and be the next
president.

Please note opinion is mine alone based on observation of recent
students and their admission process to progress in College.

Earlier posts have indicated otherwise, that attending even the second
tier (based on my opinion alone) is sufficient. I believe that if you
attend any of the second tier schools and are cooped up in a lab and
do not make any social impact, you might as well have gone to PSU.

Forgive the above formatting, I will repost later with better syntax
for easily seperating if else clause pairs.
