Post subject: in need of teacher reccommendation advice |
|
|
During the parent-teacher conferences my math teacher of adv algebra 2
told my mom that he thinks im a fantastic student and that he would be
happy to write a reccommendation for me. I know that my math teacher
will have great things to say since he has known me for a while and
since im a leader in the classroom. However, I'm concerned that maybe i
should get 2 reccommendations from 2 honors teachers that i know
instead of a reccommendation from just an advanced class and an honors
class. Basically my question is, will it look bad if I get a
reccommendation from a teacher who teaches an advance course and not an
honors course? If yes, is it better to get one from an honors teacher??? |

What's wrong with multiple letters of recommendation? As long as you
don't go overboard with the numbers, get all the letters you can. It
is an insult to refuse the letter from a valued teacher.

Avebabe,
There is nothing wrong with those recommendations. Idealy, you should
aim for recommendations that show you academic prowless. Furthermore, pick
some from teachers in the field of study you wish to persue.
While some letters will not be best suited for an admissions
application, the more you have the better you outcome will be. Also keep in
mind you will need recommendations for your scholarship applications,
housing applications, and more.
To add confection to the cake, save the recommendations to a disc. Keep
this disk in a safe location for future use. When you need copies of your
recommendations, you will always be able to print 'crisp' copies on
high-gloss printer paper. This might just be the 'edge' you need.
Have fun,

Unless, of course, these recommendations are
supposed to be confidential and the student
should not have copies.
