Spockie, what community college are you attending, or planning to attend?

If it is local to southern California, there should be fairly regular visits
from the UCLA admissions department. The frequency is monthly for many
colleges, but it depends on your distance from UCLA. The UCLA transfer
advisers will be able to answer your questions much more specifically.

Be advised it is a tough transfer. I believe that UCLA received more
applications than any college in the US, north of 40,000 for last fall. I
have not seen the numbers yet. Admissions are running about 22 percent for
transfers if I remember correctly.

What major are you planning? Almost any SEAS major is a tough admit. CS is
very tough.

One alternative, if you want to go the CS route, is to apply as a math major
and take the mathematics of computing option - it will get you into about
half of the CS department courses. There's also the Program in Computing,
which is the equivalent of a CS minor.

If you don't get admission to UCLA, I recommend UCSD, UCSB, and UCI as very
good alternatives.

For some reason I thought you were going to ASU.

Good luck, and please let us know how it turns out,
