If this is a serious question, then I've heard of people graduating with 3
majors in 4 years. They don't have to correlate, but you must satisfy each
major's requirements, some of which may overlap.

If this is a troll, then drum major, sargeant major, major, major general,
and majpr pain.

I once heard of a quintiple-major. Of course it was kind of cheesy, as all
the majors were highly related. I think he majored in chemical engineering,
materials science (which is a cousin of chemical engineering),
bio-engineering, chemistry, and biochemistry. Something like that.

I was serious. Call me stupid but quintiple....is that five? I contacted
NYU about having three majors and they said that they weren't sure if it
was possible since it would involve majoring in several different
schools.

Two years ago at UCT (the University of Cape Town), a guy graduate with 4
majors in 3 years - B.S. in Mathematics (Pure), Applied Mathematics, Physics
and Computer Science. He completed 1st year math in high school, so at the
end of his 2nd year of university he had earned a B.S. in Mathematics, and
in his 3rd year, he completed the requirements for majors in the remaining
three disciplines.

You can have as many majors as you want and they don't have to be related. I
remember once I read about a British senior citizen finishing more than 20
majors in college. Basically he spent most of his life in college. I think his
name can be found somewhere in Guinness Book of World Records.

This is what my daughters think of my son who, at 30, is about to embark on
his third academic path Smile. However, in all fairness, it's a shame that
students have to choose just one or two areas in which to major. I was so
excited about all the choices I had in college that I was forced to graduate
in 3 years because I had taken so many classes. There was no option then to
stay longer and get another degree. If I could afford to stop working and
attend college full-time again, I wouldn't stop until I had satisfied my
expansive curiousity.

Definitely not possible at NYU for sure to major across different
schools. That's what Gallatin is for, although isn't a undergrad
Liberal Arts degree these days potentially generic enough?
