Post subject: Non custodial parent has tax emption, a problem? |
|
|
For FAFSA, the custodial parent is supposed to fill out the FAFSA.
What happens if the custodial parent does not have the tax exemption
for the student? Will the govt flag this as a problem and cause a
delay in the processing?
Thank you.

Brad,
It's not a problem. It's very common that the non-custodial parent takes
the exemption as part of the divorce agreement.

Steve,
thanx for the quick reply. Just hoping to make the process go as
smooth as possible.
