Did anybody else hear, an hour or so ago on Radio 4, a trail or a
headline about a recently-discovered tin of Roman cosmetic cream? If
so, when the anno said it was called "Factorius Maximus", was it in
joking tones, or in the straight tones of one who didn't realize
she'd been set up? (I was doing something else at the time, so wasn't
paying much attention.)
When the piece came up in the 6.00 news there was no allusion to the
earlier mention.
Mike.

Ho Ho. On a par with the famous 'Spaghetti Harvest' item.

I almost wish I had; instead, I was scaring myself more witless than
today's events had already made me by watching Part 3 of The Power of
Nightmares, about the effective invention of Al Qaeda. Quite undid
all the calming effect of Trinny & Susannah.

No, my radio bit was in the 5-6 o'clock region. Yes, Power of
Nightmares puts the wind up one a bit, doesn't it? I always was
scared of Richard Perle; but to be made more scared of him than of
OBL is a distinct shift!

That was some series, wasn't it? Not those hysterical harridans with
all the dress sense of colour-blind teenagers after fourteen bottles
of Hooch - I mean the Power of Nightmares. How very apposite that
Part 3 should have been broadcast on such a day.
