I don't understand below sentence...
"stick a fork in us, we're done."

A: "Stick a fork in us, we're done. <- I don't under stand this!!
B: who writes your materal commander?
C: I get it all out of the newspapers, Robbins.

from the game The DiG..(like the movie "deep impact" "Armageddon")
(They've just activated nuclear detonators.)

When cooking some foods, the cook can tell if it is cooked enough by
sticking a fork in it, and seeing what the fork looks like when it's

**Actually it's better to use a natural straw, at least with a fruit
pie, but straw brooms are not so common anymore.

Perhaps it has to do with the roasting of meat. One must not stick a
fork into a roast until after it is done; otherwise, the juices can
leak out through the holes, and the roast will dry out.

I think that it probably goes along the cooking lines, ie. as someone
else has said in this thread, to push a fork into a chicken and when
the juices run clear, it is done.
therefore, if you were to amend the phrase to 'you might as well'
stick a fork in us, we're done.
I would surminse that it basically means 'the game is over'.

If you are talking about my one, then three are ok. The phrase
between the first and second comma, can be extracted without the main
thrust being lost.
