What does black hatting mean?
Participation in team activities such as meetings and creating a positive
influence (not just black hatting).

Placing the blame. The cliche is that the good guys wear white hats,
the bads ones wear black hats. To "black hat" someone is to place the
"black hat" on him, marking him as the bad guy. |

I don't really recall having run across this before, at least not in
this form, but if I recall correctly, the "church" of $cientology
makes a habit of "hatting" people. It seems more than likely that
that is what they are referring to. |

I think not. "Hatting" is considered in Scientology a good thing. It |
means nothing more than training in the "correct" understanding and
application of the techniques of Scientology. There is no no "black
hatting" among the Hubbardites. If they don't like you, they merely
label you a suppressive person and use whatever means necessary to
destroy you. My ex-wife's brother seems to have been a Scientology
operative who is now a "suppressive person." As nearly as I can figure
out, he found a way to rechannel some of the fleece from the unwary into
his own pocket: <URL:http://www.holysmoke.org/mo/jon-lundenn-sp-declare.htm> |
