I am a single mom and 43 years young. I have always wanted to go to college and get a degree., however family demands and finances made it a near impossibility. I’ve been self employed for the last 8 years still only scraping by. In the last year, 2 of my 3 children are now out on their own. Due to my parents health me and my 8 year old have moved in with them at their request. These changes have given me an opportunity to finally go to school and earn a degree.

I am currently taking online classes, however I have decided to change my degree plan and go to a local school to be an RN. The classes / credits that I am earning will comply and transfer to the RN program. I will have only completed one semester .

My question is how will this affect my financial aid and loan? Will I lose it? I know that I will have to apply at my local college but I am concerned that this will mess me up and I can’t afford to lose it.
