Good day,
all your restlos searchers for good questions,

a friend of mine from the US expressed his disregard of
a new Google Groups Interface as follows:
"I hate that new Google Group Beta schmbeta."

And explained it:
Quote:
It is an American (I think) expression. You add "schm" somewhere
linguistically appropriate in a word to show annoyance, usually before
an accented syllable.

Let's say someone keeps mentioning that money
is a problem in order to complete some task.
After a while, you could say:
Money? Schmoney! Let's get on with it and stop whining!
Unquote.

Sounds jiddish to my german ears.

Any ideas regarding etymology?
