Post subject: FAFSA - number of household members |
|
|
FAFSA application generated an error, because I said I am single, with
no children, but have a household number of 3.
The reason I put 3 was because, although I'm 26, I do currently live
with my parents.
Should I and can I enter "1" for my household number?

The question about household members for an independent student refers
to people for whom you now provide more than 50% financial support and
will continue to support next year. Unless you support your parents you
enter "1". If you do support your parents then you would have also
indicated that in question #52 and it would have accepted the "3."
