Post subject: please help with this fafsa question... |
|
|
Filling out my FAFSA pre-app worksheet -
Can anyone provide some insight into these questions:
What is the students number in college ? (85)
(always count yourself as a college student. Do not count your parents. Include others only if they will attend at least half time in a 2004-2005 program that leads to a college degreee or certificate)
What is the students parents' number in college ? (66)
(always count yourself as a college student. Do not count your parents. Include others only if they will attend at least half time in a 2004-2005 program that leads to a college degreee or certificate)
I first assumed that it was the number of kids in the family that are currently in college.
But - what the heck is the second question all about ? Can someone help clue me in...
Thanks for the assistance,
Devon

You only answer either 85 or 66.
84 and 85 are only for independent students - those who answered 'Yes'
to any of questions 48-54. If so, you'd list yourself plus any spouse or
your children also attending college.
65 and 66 are for dependent students, and you'd list yourself and any
other siblings also attending college.
