In what situations can I use and say "Whachamcllit"? Also, I want to know
the exact meaning of it.

Usually spelled "what you may call it," convenient
in spoken English (never in writing) as a placeholder
for something forgotten. The context is that it is
more important for the speaker to complete his
thought without delay than to remember the exact
noun he has in mind.

It's what you use to attach a dohickey to a thingamabob.

Pondial note: I've seen "thingummie" here more often than
"thingamabob".

"Thingamajig" was the version I heard most often.
