Post subject: New version of the Oxford English Dictionary on CD |
|
|
Oxford University Press USA has announced the release of a new version of
the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) 2nd Edition on CD, Version 3.1. This new
version will include all the entries added to the OED since 1979. Until now
these entries were only available to on-line subscribers. Improved search
options and bug fixes will also be available. These are not major
improvements but the upgrade is being sold at vastly reduced prices.
To enable resellers of this product to sell a package deal of the existing
version 3.0 with the 3.1 upgrade when released Oxford USA has a special
introductory price to resellers for the upgrade which is about one third of
the price of the last upgrade. Resellers are passing these saving on to the
customers.
The upgrade will allow anyone to upgrade from version 2.0 or 3.0. If you are
still using version 2.0 this will be a vastly improved upgrade at a very low
price.
For further information you can go to

If you are still using version 1.0 (It came on one CD with a floppy disk. -
Version 2.0 and above are on two CDs.) of the Oxford English Dictionary CD
you can also upgrade by supplying proof of purchase to Oxford University
Press (OUP) and they will supply you the full version at the upgrade list
price. The number for OUP USA customer support is 800-445-9714.
