Firefox:

In addition to the many searches available
http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html from the search box, there are
right-click options, AUEers will like the dictionaries. Go to Tools >
Extensions > Options (read the Help) and add a new lookup.

Either one is probably better than IE. I don't understand why MS let IE
stagnate.

I'll have to try that one too http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/ . Like
Firefox, It's based on gecko layout engine.

And after reading a few head-to-head comparisons, I've decided to
stick with Opera.

Outstanding browser, Nehmo: smaller, much faster, and easy to set up.
Safer from Spyware too if the reviews are correct. After a few hours
of enjoying the advantages of Firefox, I have no plans to ever revert
to clunky IE.
Thank you for the link.

I can't even find the "bragging" you refer to, so I could be wrong, but I've
always read the name as meaning it _metaphorically_ "changes colors" to
'fit in' on a windows system better than traditional Mozilla. |

Look at their screenshots. Almost half of them are devoted to
showing colors changing. In my brief look, I didn't see any other
differences in those shots but colors.

Were you trying to run one of the betas? Firefox locked up my wife's WinME
box, so I installed Mozilla and it runs fine. (Firefox is made by the Mozilla
people.)

No, it was the final version, there may have been a conflict with |
the K-meleon browser (also a Mozilla product), also have Mozilla's
Thunderbird Mail server, both K-Meleon and Thunderbird work
fine, fast with no pop-ups or other clutter. |

Well, different icon sets. Which can be a useful accessibility feature, in
theory.
There's no logical reason for them _not_ to provide it... as bloated as
windows is these days, the fact that you can change classic look from beige
to any other color you might want hardly contributes to that bloat.
Where do you get the impression they're "focusing" on it?

Because so many of their screenshots were about that feature.
Seems like a focus to me.
